Good news, bad news

Good news: The scarf is done! I used 20-stitch rows on #13 needles, holding together Lion "Fun Fur" eyelash yarn in Sapphire and Lion Wool (worsted-weight 100% wool yarn) in Ebony. Finished size is about 6.25"x47". I'm having trouble recalling details for certain, but I believe I used three balls of the eyelash yarn and two skeins of the black.

(Okay, it's a terrible picture. I finished the scarf LATE last night, and figured bad cellphone-camera documentation was better than no documentation. I'll do better next time, I promise!)

Bad news: I remembered two more things that should be on the list. :-/
  • Finish photo album for "the NC mom".
  • Finish sewing my LBD.
  • Clear my "mend" pile.
  • Find my desk under all the junk.
  • Finish the scarf for "former boss". DONE!
  • Knit B's hat and gloves (or mittens).
  • Finish SO's hat (checkerboard texture, and my first attempt at knitting anything more complicated than a scarf!).
  • Edit and send baptism photos to "the NC mom".

A purpose for my blog

It occurred to me this past weekend that just because I'm blogging to procrastinate, that doesn't mean I can't be productive, too.

I'm queen of the half-done project. As embarrassed as I am to admit it, one of these projects dates back to...the summer of 2002! So I may not always or exclusively write about my half-done projects, but, in an attempt to keep track of them AND keep myself accountable, I'm going to document them here. Eventually I'll try to make things a little more interesting with pictures, but for now, I'm just going to list what I can think of and call it a "to-do" list.

Note to self: stop promising things to other people! I could learn a thing or two from The Selfish Seamstress in this department...
